Oulu Innovation Ltd is a development company whose mission is to promote the competitiveness of business based on technology expertise in the Oulu Region and to improve the region's international appeal as a business and expertise development environment. Oulu Innovation Ltd participates in national and international innovation network coordination. Oulu Innovation Ltd is owned by the City of Oulu and the technology centre provider Technopolis Plc.
Technopolis Plc (www.technopolis.fi ) was established in 1982 as the first science park in Scandinavia. Today Technopolis is, in terms of number of customers, one of Europe's largest technology centers. It is also the largest company in Finland specializing in providing operating environments for high tech companies. It offers a comprehensive service package combining modern premises, business and individual services, development programs and consultation. Technopolis currently operates in Oulu, Vantaa and Espoo, and is preparing to enter the Baltic and Russian markets. Approximately 8,000 people, representing nearly 600 companies, work in its technology centers.
