Technopolis acquires a property in Jyväskylä from
Visma Software
Technopolis is increasing and diversifying its supply of
operating premises in Jyväskylä. Technopolis JSP Ltd, a
subsidiary of Technopolis, has acquired a commercial and
office building of approximately 2,400 square meters in
Ylistönmäki, which is the location of the majority of
Technopolis's existing properties in Jyväskylä.
The building was sold to Technopolis by Visma Software
Oyj, which will continue to be one of the building's users
on a long-term lease. Finncao Oy and Arrow Engineering Oy
also operate in the building. These companies will also
stay on as tenants. The acquisition price was slightly
under EUR 1.9 million.
Jukka Akselin, CEO of Technopolis JSP, says that the
premises now acquired will create completely new
opportunities for the company to serve its customers. They
will expand Technopolis's offering, and will add
approximately 1,000 square meters of additional premises
for leasing.
'The premises will answer a need, as the amount of vacant
premises in our current properties is small, while our
customers will be growing strongly in the near future. The
premises are especially well suited for consulting and
design offices, and for various product development
units,' he says.
In terms of the number of clients, Technopolis Plc is one
of Europe's largest technology centers. It is Finland's
largest company that specializes in providing operating
environments for high tech companies and offers a
comprehensive service package combining modern premises
and business and development services. Technopolis
operates in Oulu, Vantaa, Espoo, Lappeenranta, Jyväskylä
and Tampere. It is preparing to expand its operations to
Russia. Some 12,000 people from 930 companies are
currently working in its technology centers. The company’s
shares are quoted on the mid-cap list of the Nordic
Exchange.
