TECHNOPOLIS PRESS RELEASE May 18, 2010 13:00

EYE CENTER TO OPEN ON FINNMEDI, TAMPERE LIFE SCIENCES CAMPUS IN 2011

Technopolis Finnmedi is a new campus specializing in healthcare technology and
life sciences services in Tampere. Technopolis and the Joint Municipal
Authority of the Pirkanmaa Hospital District (PSHP) have signed an agreement on
the construction of a new, innovative eye center at the Finnmedi campus.

Finnmedi, a competence center for life sciences and well-being, will be built
at an excellent location right next to the Tampere University Hospital, the
Tampere University of Applied Sciences and Tampere University.

Work on the project will begin immediately, in May 2010. The Finnmedi
facilities, targeted at companies specializing in well-being services and
medical technology, will be completed by the end of 2011. Technopolis Finnmedi
will also include parking space for approximately 150 vehicles.

The innovative environment will include a 2,000 m2 office complex which will be
leased to several tenants. Marketing of these premises will start immediately.

Satu Eskelinen, Director of Technopolis Tampere, is satisfied with the deal:”I
am truly pleased with the fact that the people in Tampere have the courage to
invest in a new type of business concept, the unique competence available in
the region, and innovative academic key sectors despite the current economic
downswing. Eye center is a leading example of the region's drive for
innovation. Finnmedi will also feature excellent office premises for expert
companies, further adding to the region's appeal.”

Rauno Ihalainen, Director of the Joint Municipal Authority of the Pirkanmaa
Hospital District (PSHP), sees that the solution - which makes services for
consumers, healthcare experts and researchers available under one roof - as a
wonderful opportunity to create new business models and further develop the
business.

”The new and innovative operational methods of the eye center will increase
the profitability of healthcare service processes, improve its quality, and
also improve its cost-effectiveness,” Ihalainen says.

Professor Anja Tuulonen, the head of the eye center project, is also
enthusiastic about the center's potential. ”The concept for the center has been
developed over a long period of time and its diverse, innovative operating
environment is certain to generate interest on the international level."

Technopolis has more than 100 customer companies in Tampere as a whole. With
the Finnmedi campus, Technopolis' total facility portfolio in Tampere will
increase to more than 74,600 m2. The eye center project is estimated to
cost approximately EUR 12.8 million. Once completed, it will cover nearly 5,500
m2. Cost estimate of the office building is approximately 3.3 million and it
will cover 2,400 m2.
