Social Career Networks Can Be Created with New TalentMatch Service

A pilot project by Technopolis Plc and Otaniemi Marketing combines online media and networking events.

Currently, there are no operators or mechanisms that would efficiently combine existing international competence with open positions and projects. The most important objective of TalentMatch is to promote encounters by international experts and companies that need them. The service is comprised of an online tool and Talent Talks matchmaking events. The online tool is a social media service that allows professionals to market their competence and companies to post their open positions. It is built as part of the existing JobGo recruitment portal.

”The Technopolis customer base includes plenty of growth-oriented companies for which international specialists offer significant growth potential. We have developed the TalentMatch service model in cooperation with Otaniemi Marketing so that the needs of our customer companies and available professionals would meet,” says Karita Huotari, Head of Strategic Matchmaking Services at Technopolis.

The TalentMatch service will be piloted during spring 2012, and one of the aims is to build an earning model for the service so that TalentMatch can operate self-financed in the future. The sponsors of the pilot phase include Kone and Nokia, allowing start-ups with growth potential, such as Hookie Technologies Ltd., to test the service.

Sponsors of the ramp-up phase include Nokia, Kone, Aalto University, Laurea University of Applied Sciences and the Helsinki Region Chamber of Commerce. TalentMatch is a completely novel recruitment entity that also offers service to international professionals who live in Finland and companies that need them.

The most essential new feature of TalentMatch compared to conventional job-seeking online services is that the background and competence data filled in the applicant and position profiles can match without manual searches.
