TECHNOPOLIS PLC YLIOPISTONRINNE OCCUPANCY REACHES 73,3 %
KESKO PLC, SAFETY TECHNOLOGY AUTHORITY (TUKES) AND ALEKSIN RAVINTOLAT LTD
STRENGTHEN TECHNOPOLIS POSITION IN TAMPERE
Technopolis Plc has signed binding leases with Kesko Plc, Safety Technology
Authority (Tukes) and Aleksin Ravintolat Ltd for the Yliopistonrinne technology
center downtown Tampere. The new leases for Yliopistonrinne raise the occupancy
rate to 73,3 %. The leases start during the summer of 2010.
- Yliopistonrinne will support the growth of a strong cluster of
knowledge-intensive service companies in Tampere. An important target for us is
to develop a network between this cluster and the know how cluster in
Technopolis Hermia, says the Director of Tampere Operations Satu Eskelinen.
Technopolis has over 100 customer companies in Tampere. Upon completion of the
first phase of Technopolis Yliopistonrinne in 2010, the company's total
leasable area in Tampere will increase to more than 59,000 square meters. The
total cost of Yliopistonrinne is estimated at EUR 33.3 million. The size of the
first phase will be some 11,000 gross square meters, which includes an indoor
parking facility for 130 vehicles. The Yliopistonrinne technology center will
be implemented in three stages. Once fully completed, its size will be
approximately 30,000 square meters.
