TECHNOPOLIS PLC’S OCCUPANCY RATES ON THE RISE – YLIOPISTONRINNE OCCUPANCY RATE RISES TO 81,4 % AND KONTINKANGAS PHASE FIVE TO 88,5 %

TECHNOPOLIS PLC'S OCCUPANCY RATES ON THE RISE - YLIOPISTONRINNE OCCUPANCY RATE
RISES TO 81,4 % AND KONTINKANGAS PHASE FIVE TO 88,5 % 

Technopolis Plc's Yliopistonrinne and Kontinkangas fifth phase, which both are
under construction, are filling up. The occupancy rate for the first phase of
Yliopistonrinne in Tampere rises to 81,4 % after signing a non-published lease
agreement on 802,7 gross square meters.  The fifth phase of Kontinkangas in
Oulu rises to 88,5 % after signing a lease agreement on 814 gross square meters
with Tieto Plc. 

Technopolis Plc has earlier signed binding lease agreements with Kesko Plc, the
Safety Technology Authority (Tukes) and Aleksin Ravintolat Oy for
Yliopistonrinne. The lease agreements are effective from the summer 2010 when
the building is completed. 

- Yliopistonrinne is situated in Tampere city center close to the university
and railway station. The location is excellent considering that a conference
center of international standard for 300 visitors will be situated in the site,
says the Director for Tampere operations Satu Eskelinen. 

Earlier binding lease agreements for the fifth phase of Kontinkangas have been
signed with Eka Polymer Latex Ltd and Ixonos Plc. Kontinkangas fifth phase will
be completed in June 2009. 

- The fifth phase of Kontinkangas strengthens Technopolis Plc's position as the
second largest knowledge based center in the area. Research and education, life
sciences, software and technology knowledge are all combined into a network of
thousands of professionals in the area, the Director of Oulu operations Seppo
Selmgren says. 

Technopolis has over 100 client companies in Tampere and approximately 240
client companies in Oulu. Along with the first phase of Yliopistonrinne the
gross size of Technopolis Plc in Tampere in year 2010 will increase to over 59
000 square meters and in Oulu  after completing the fifth phase of Kontinkangas
to 198 000 square meters. The cost calculation for Yliopistonrinne is
approximately 33,3 MEUR and the investment for Kontinkangas fifth phase is
approximately 7,2 MEUR.
